StAR HIB^TM is a unique, synergistic blend of organic shale inhibitors to control swelling shales and reservoir clays. StAR HIB is compatible with all conventional inhibitive WBM additives and the liquid concentrate is simply substituted for KCl in any formulation. Lab results have indicated that 3% of StAR HIB will give the same level of inhibition equivalent to 10% KCl while both have similar levels of depletion, which is not excessive.
